The Minister's CatShe sits unnoticed in a corner. Beams of sunlight from bright stained glass fall upon her fur like a warm rainbow. She watches people file silently in, hushed and showing proper respect. Yawning, she begins to prepare herself. While heavenly music plays, people raise their voices in song. She slowly preens already perfect fur. Patiently she waits and watches. The music stops and everyone stands. A man in silky robes steps up to the alter and begins to pray. Gracefully she jumps and steps lightly across the organ making her own sweet music to announce her grand entrance, Then she leaps upon the alter and strikes a regal pose. The Monster In The Bush. --Stripes slowly opened his tired eyes before yawning loudly. Delicately, the young tom cat pressed closer to the spotted black-and-white blanket that he lay on, as if to snuggle up to the old rag. Despite the warmth that comforted him, he knew that he wouldn't be able to sleep once he had woken from his slumber. Sighing inwardly, Stripes got to his paws and jumped out of his bed, arching his back in a long stretch before padding gingerly towards his water-bowl.The Monster In The Bush. -- by =tuzuke
The young tom cat leant down and licked up a few mouthfuls of the icy-cold water before shaking out his pelt. He blinked, his amber eyes bright with tiredness. As Stripes was about to stretch his neck to reach down to his food-bowl, he heard a dull thud. The silence lasted only a heartbeat longer before another thud chimed, only to be followed by another.
"Stripes!" spoke a muffled voice. The young tom sighed, Dapple. he thought to himself.
